Paulson is playing Shamblin, a woman who created Weigh Down Workshop, a Christian diet program. Later, she founded the Remnant Fellowship Church and was described as "a charismatic figure with a carefully curated image who was accused of emotional, psychological and physical abuse and exploitation for the church's alleged cult-like practices." Sounds like the perfect role for Paulson!

Prurient minds may think that this hour-long drama is nothing but a romp-fest of naked women. And, in many ways, it is. Women do have sex -- and lots of it -- but that's not what it's all about. It's exciting for lesbian relationships to have such a frank forum; for them to be characterized in living color, with all their complications; and for the "L" word not to be a forbidden word anymore.

There's another revival on the way: the groundbreaking drama The L Word is returning this Winter with The L Word: Generation Q. The cast includes several of the stars from the original series, which ran from 2004 to 2009, as well as plenty of newcomers, including a younger generation of characters. Like the original, the new show (premiering Dec. 8) revolves around the lives and loves of a group of friends, most of whom are lesbian women, in Southern California.
